Hey all 🙂
Amidst exam season I have finally found time to sit down and type up a message. Over the last few weeks, I feel like God has been telling me a few things.
The main thing He’s spoken to me about is using the gifts he has placed within me. Admittedly, I’m the type of person who (still) does the whole comparison thing. I have to admit that I can look at others and class myself as inferior. Definitely not a healthy lifestyle. Firstly I had to realise that doubt, fear and low confidence is what the devil wants. The devil would rather see me quiet and timid than glorifying God with what He has placed in me.
God guided me to this scripture:
‘Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.
For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities’. Isaiah 54: 2 – 3.
My understanding of this scripture is simple:
By enlarging our tents we are stepping out of our comfort zones, we are setting up camp so we can serve the Lord in any way possible. Even if we do feel initially fearful, as we step into serving the Lord, His grace will rest on our shoulders and give us strength for any task in front of us.
Do not hold back. It is as simple as that. Personally, I have held back from doing many things but this scripture has told me that I shouldn’t. I should step into things with an open honest heart and put my all into it. You should do the same.
Whatever it is, an idea you want to work on, a piece of writing you want to publish, an event you want to put on, a place you want to go to in order to serve the Lord, do it. Go. God is guiding you. x
‘ For God did not give us the spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.’ 2 Timothy 1: 7.
I hope this has blessed you.
